Who we are
Zovaastro (zovaastro.in) provides free Vedic astrology charts and reports. For any privacy question, request or complaint, write to our grievance contact at zova.astrology@gmail.com. We reply within 7 days.
What we collect and why
- Birth details (date, time, place and, if you give it, a name) to calculate your chart. Without them there is no chart.
- Your Google account email and name, only if you sign in, so you can save charts and come back to them.
- Consent records (what you agreed to and when), so we can show we stored your data only with your permission.
We do not use advertising, we do not use third-party analytics or tracking scripts, and we never sell or rent personal data.
Where your data is kept
- Without an account: your birth details stay in an encrypted cookie on your own device for up to 30 days. Our servers use them to calculate the chart and do not keep or log them. “Forget these details” deletes the cookie.
- With an account: charts you choose to save are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before they are written to our database in Mumbai, India. Each account can read only its own charts.
- Your theme choice (light or dark) is stored in your browser. Sign-in uses essential cookies to keep you logged in.
Service providers
We use these providers to run the service. They process data only on our instructions:
- Vercel: hosts the website (server functions in Mumbai, content delivered from the nearest location).
- Google Cloud: runs the chart calculation engine in Mumbai.
- Supabase: database and sign-in, hosted in Mumbai.
- Google: “Continue with Google” sign-in.
Your rights
- See and export everything we hold about you: Account → Export.
- Correct a saved chart by deleting it and saving it again with the right details.
- Delete a chart, or your whole account with all saved charts and consent records, at any time from the Account page. Deletion is immediate.
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting the data; it does not affect anything else you use.
- If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Parents and guardians may save charts for their children in their own account.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and its date, and ask for fresh consent where the law requires it.
